  • 1 Cast iron skillet or casserole dish
  • 1 Paring knife
  • 1 Chopping board
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Kitchen scales

Ingredients
  

For the Tarte Tatin

  • 3 –4 aromatic apples e.g. Boskoop
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 80 g Butter
  • 1 Roll of puff pastry
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Preparation
 

Caramel & Apples

  • Slowly caramelize the sugar in the pan until light brown.
  • Add butter until creamy.
  • Peel the apples, cut into quarters, remove the seeds and cut into wedges, drizzle with lemon juice.

Layers & Baking

  • Place the apple slices in a circle in the caramel, allow to caramelise slightly.
  • Place the puff pastry on top and roll the edges downwards.
  • Bake in the oven (180°C) for approx. 30–35min.

Turn Out & Serve

  • Turn the tart out while still warm, remove from the tin and enjoy lukewarm.
