Cooking utensils

  • 1 Grill or grill pan
  • 1 Wooden or metal skewers
  • 1 Bowl for the marinade

Ingredients

For the skewers:

  • 200 g Halloumi
  • 1 Zucchini
  • 1 red peppers
  • 1 yellow peppers
  • 1 red onion

For the marinade:

  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 Garlic clove pressed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Preparation:

  • Cut the halloumi into cubes.
  • Cut the zucchini into slices, the bell pepper into large pieces and the onion into wedges.
  • Put everything in a bowl, mix with the marinade and leave to stand for about 15 minutes.

Barbecue:

  • Alternate the vegetables and halloumi on skewers.
  • Preheat the grill or grill pan to medium heat.
  • Grill the skewers on all sides for 10-15 minutes, turning several times, until the vegetables are soft and the halloumi is golden brown.
  • Sprinkle with fresh herbs to taste and serve immediately.

Recommended side dishes:

  • Flatbread or ciabatta - to soak up the marinade and as a light, Mediterranean accompaniment.
  • Tzatziki or yoghurt and herb dip - brings freshness and harmonizes perfectly with halloumi.
  • Greek farmer's salad - provides an acidic, crunchy component as a contrast to the grilled flavor.
