🥩 Veal & wine – The best wine pairings for fine veal
Veal is tender, delicately aromatic and extremely versatile – but which wine goes best with it? As veal has a milder taste and a fine texture compared to beef or lamb, it needs a wine that is not too dominant, but still offers enough structure and elegance.
Depending on the preparation – roasted, braised or as a veal escalope – both elegant white wines and light to medium-bodied red wines can be wonderfully combined. While Chardonnay or Pinot Gris go perfectly with creamy veal sauces, Pinot Noir, Chianti or a more mature Bordeaux are ideal accompaniments to grilled or braised veal.
