Agiorgitiko – fruit, elegance & Mediterranean diversity from the Peloponnese

Agiorgitiko (also known as “Blood of Nemea”) is probably the best-known red wine grape variety in Greece and comes from the Nemea region in the Peloponnese. The wine is famous for its soft fruit, mild tannins and versatile ageing methods. Stylistically, it ranges from fresh & fruity to strong & woody to rosé & sweet.

Aromas of ripe cherry, plum, raspberry, spices, violets, chocolate and sometimes Mediterranean herbs are typical of Agiorgitiko.

🔹 Young, fruity Agiorgitiko: Juicy, soft, cherry-accented, a pleasure when slightly chilled.
🔹 Agiorgitiko Reserve / Barrique: Strong, with vanilla, dark fruit and spice.
🔹 Agiorgitiko Rosé: Fresh, berry, summery.
🔹 Sweet Agiorgitiko (dessert wine): Concentrated, velvety, with dried fruit.
