French dessert art – wine and food at the highest level

Wine with food inspires new moments of enjoyment and lifts classics such as the Tarte Tatin into a new sphere. This traditional dessert from France impresses with a seductively caramelized apple filling, crispy puff pastry and delicious buttery notes. Turning after baking reveals a golden layer of shiny apples that smell seductive and melt on the palate. Wine and food enter into an aromatic coexistence here: fruit, sweetness, caramelized roasted aromas and a delicate acidity make the Tarte Tatin a highlight on every table. Whether as a sweet end to a menu or a stylish accompaniment to afternoon coffee – this tart inspires with French elegance.

Ideal wine pairing: Vouvray Demi-Sec/Sweet (Chenin Blanc, Loire, France)

The perfect wine accompaniment to Tarte Tatin is a Vouvray Demi-Sec from Chenin Blanc from the Loire. With its enchanting combination of ripe apple fruit, fine honey and floral notes, it blends seamlessly into the aromatics of the caramelized apples. The refreshing acid structure balances the sweetness of the dessert and ensures an elegant drinking flow. Its fine perlage and mineral depth accentuate the buttery, caramel elements of the tart.

Sensual interplay – dessert and wine harmonize in detail

Vouvray demi-sec or sweet Chenin Blanc from the Loire are the ideal partners for Tarte Tatin. Its aromatic range of apple, pear, honey, white flowers and a filigree mineral note picks up the caramelized aromas of the tart and underlines the fine acidity of ripe apples. The balance between sweetness and freshness is particularly crucial: the wine ensures that the dessert does not seem heavy on the palate, but remains animating and multi-layered. In combination with buttery, crispy dough and the melt-in-the-mouth fruits, a perfect taste experience is created. If you are looking for an extraordinary pairing, a noble sweet Riesling from Australia is the best choice – its exotic fruit notes, lively acidity and animating sweetness set an exciting, modern contrast to French patisserie.
